    Ghada Soufan

    By March 13, 2018 |

Ghada works in Global Marketing for WhatsApp, with the mission of connecting the app’s 2.5 billion users privately and without barriers. With a passion for creativity and brand-building, Ghada is motivated by pushing creative boundaries to create work that has cultural impact on a global scale.

Prior to WhatsApp, Ghada Soufan was a Management Supervisor at Wieden+Kennedy NY and Portland, working on brands like Ford Motor Company and Old Spice. She is most proud of pushing both of these brands into new areas of growth, audiences and creative that unlocked more inclusive worlds for both brands. On Ford, Ghada successfully launched a visual and strategic rebrand for Ford Trucks, influencing the brand to pivot from a less inclusive campaign that ran 12 years strong. On Old Spice, her work not only included iconic global campaigns with Terry Crew, Deon Cole and Von Miller – but also pushed platform boundaries like the first-ever live Twitch video game and the world’s first paper blazer print ad. Ghada also worked alongside P&G to innovate in the men’s grooming space with the launch of Old Spice Beard Care collection and Men’s Dry Shampoo.

As an Arab-American, Ghada is a dedicated advocate for diversity & inclusion efforts within her organization and through ADCOLOR. In 2019, she co-founded and launched MENA for ADCOLOR, the first community group providing a platform and authentic representation for Middle Eastern/North African voices in our industries. Ghada also serves on the Advisory Board as the Community Council Co-Lead, leading and shaping the future of community groups for the organization. These efforts were recognized in 2020 when awarded the ADCOLOR Community Unsung Hero award. Outside of ADCOLOR, she dedicates her time to championing MENA art, rhetoric and history through co-chairing an initiative with The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Ancient Near East wing.

Ghada graduated from The University of Texas with a B.S. Advertising with Honors. Last year, she was selected and graduated as one of 30 scholars for the 2020 Marketing Academy class.

When Ghada isn’t working, you can find her on an urban hike, hosting a dinner party or planning her next scuba trip.
