    Gabrielle Union

    One of today’s hottest stars, Gabrielle Union, continues to shine. Union’s latest project, “L.A.’s Finest” premiered in 2019 in partnership with Charter Communications’. In the highly anticipated TV spinoff from the BAD BOYS movie franchise she reprises her role as Syd Burnett. She stars opposite Jessica Alba in the series and is also an executive producer through her production shingle “I’ll Have Another.” “L.A.’s Finest” streams on Charter’s Spectrum and received a 13-episode straight to series order. Season 2 of the show will premiere on Spectrum on September 9th. FOX picked up first season this past May and it will premiere on that network on September 21st.

    Union has always had an eye for forward-thinking businesses centered around inclusion, accessibility, and affordability. In August of this year, she relaunched her haircare brand “Flawless by Gabrielle Union” for women with textured hair. The new and improved collection includes an array of options, affordably priced between $4 – $10, that empowers consumers to customize a regimen specific to their texture and style preferences. Prior to relaunching Flawless, Union learned of the disparities in the food space and joined Bitsy’s as a cofounder with the goal of making healthy, allergen- friendly, school-safe snacks that are accessible and affordable for all families regardless of their socioeconomic or geographical status.

    Earlier this year, inspired by the birth of her daughter, Union wrote her first children’s book, “Welcome to the Party” which reads as a love letter from parents to their children about the party that is life. The book was released by Harper Collins on May 5th to much acclaim.

    Union formed her production shingle, I’ll Have Another, in 2018 with the goal of telling stories that center around the stories of marginalized voices in an authentic manner. I’ll Have Another develops broadcast, cable and streaming series’ for television in conjunction with their first-look deal at Sony Pictures Television and also has a strong emphasis on feature films in both the studio and independent space.

    In 2017, Union added New York Times bestselling author to her credits with the release of her book We’re Going To Need More Wine: Stories That Are Funny, Complicated and True. Released by Dey Street Books, the book is formatted in a series of essays and features personal stories and reflections on a range of topics that continue to define the contemporary landscape: sexuality, womanhood, friendship, race, marriage and beauty. That same year, Union partnered with New York & Company to exclusively launch the “Gabrielle Union Collection”. Union’s vision was to create apparel for the modern woman that included a range of sizes and affordable price points while offering styles that were cool and on trend. The collections include a range of dresses, tops, bottoms, outerwear and accessories. She is very active in the design process and has released 23 collections since inception. She is also the face of New York & Company’s 7th Avenue Collection.

    Union’s passion for acting is rivaled by her role as leader and advocate for inclusion in the Entertainment industry. She has been an integral voice in the conversations about inclusion and representation and how companies across the board can do better in the fight against injustice and systemic oppression. She is also a champion of breast health and combating sexual violence.

    On the big screen, Union was last seen in THE PUBLIC opposite Alec Baldwin, Taylor Schilling, Jena Malone, Emilio Estevez and Che “Rhymefest” Smith. Union was also seen in PBS’ four hour television documentary series “Half The Sky” based on the best-selling book by Pulitzer Prize winners Nicholas Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn, Half the Sky: Turning Oppression into Opportunity for Women Worldwide.

    From 2013-2019, Union stared in the BET series “Being Mary Jane”. Union earned rave reviews for her performance as ‘Mary Jane’ and received a 2014 NAACP Image Award for “Outstanding Actress in a Television Movie, Mini-Series or Dramatic Special” for her performance. Union made her television debut in UPN’s hit comedy “Moesha,” and then went on to guest-star on such hit shows as “ER,” “Dave’s World” and “The Steve Harvey Show.” Shortly thereafter, she had a recurring role on two WB hit shows, “Sister, Sister” and “7th Heaven.” Union also stirred things up when she guest starred as a love interest to both ‘Joey’ (Matt LeBlanc) and ‘Ross’ (David Schwimmer) on “Friends,” and with this role, Union marked the first African-American love interest on the series. She also joined the cast of Steven Bochco’s “City of Angels” for one season and was seen on ABC’s “Flash Forward,” NBC’s “Life” and ABC’s “Ugly Betty.” In addition, she starred in ABC’s critically acclaimed series “Night Stalker” opposite Stuart Townsend and was also seen in HBO’s award-winning “Something the Lord Made,” opposite Alan Rickman, Kyra Sedgwick and Mos Def.

    Native of Nebraska, Union currently resides in Los Angeles with her family.
