After years of looking for an exit out of the marketing world, Lopaka realized he had been walking his path all along. In 2023, after twelve years of steady business and leadership development, Lopaka became the president and owner of Waldinger Creative, a branding and strategic communications practice based in Baltimore, Maryland. Over his career, Lopaka has supported many organizations as they have considered new opportunities to tell their stories. He has led development of sustainability and ESG strategies and supported diverse non-profit sectors including early childhood education, eldercare, immigration policy and indigenous rights. He completed his graduate study of globalization, ethnicity and culture at the University of Sussex. As a Kanaka Maoli, supporting the aspirations of Native Hawaiians and indigenous peoples is deeply important to him. Traveling, surfing and starting (and sometimes finishing) house projects are some of the things he savors. Lopaka resides in Silver Spring, Maryland with his partner and two children.
