She prides herself on the duality of understanding concepts from both a business provider and consumer-first perspective.
Fresh out of college as a Communications Specialist at MGM National Harbor — Imani led marketing, press and media efforts for entertainment, food and beverage, retail and diversity, equity and inclusion verticals. During a furlough from MGM due to COVID-19, she stepped out on faith and launched her own boutique digital branding and marketing consulting firm; Mani B. Media. Mani B. Media is a platform where Imani shares educational content targeted towards small business owners of color. Imani noticed a gap in knowledge regarding social and digital marketing in her home community of Prince George’s County during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic, which led to her desire to provide information regarding branding terminology, social media marketing and business courtesy.
From 9-5, Imani is a Digital Strategist for Edelman where she serves as a content expert, copywriter, social architect, creative thinker and design planner for brands such as Google, Sports Illustrated Swim, Shell Energy, Bel Cheese and more. In this role, Imani helps think and implement industry best practices on how to craft compelling brand stories in the digital realm. Imani holds a BA in Communication (PR) and Sociology from University of Maryland, College Park and a MPS degree in Integrated Marketing Communications from Georgetown University.
