Gary is the Head of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) for Amazon Music. He is a proud alumni of Hampton University, with a bachelor’s degree in Business Management. Upon graduating from Hampton, Gary began his career in finance before transitioning into the world of learning & development as a Facilitator and Instructional Designer at Booz Allen Hamilton servicing the Department of Defense.

He earned his Master of Science in Education from George Mason University in 2014, with a focus in Curriculum & Instruction. Gary relocated to New York City in 2014, accepting a role as Program Manager of Learning & Development at JPMorgan Chase & Co. In 2018, he was tapped by Capital One to be a Learning Consultant, and later a certified Culture of Belonging practitioner where he was able to connect learning & development with DEI. Now, as the Head of DEI for Amazon Music, he creates, refines, and executes DEI goals and partners with central DEI teams to execute Amazon-wide DEI goals.

He also develops curated experiences and tools focused on engagement and inclusion of historically excluded communities. Outside of Amazon, Gary is an avid traveler, hosting his own travel and lifestyle blog, CatchGifUcan.com.
