Yessy Downs – Ab
By ADCOLOR June 16, 2021 |Yessy is a Spanglish-speaking, hoop-wearing, cafecito-drinking, Nicaraguan-American Copywriter with a passion for creativity and community. After trading law school for Miami Ad School, Yessy quickly began racking up an impressive client roster that includes Dunkin’, Burger King, MichelobULTRA, Samsung and Heinz. Today she’s the lead writer on the Boeing and Cottonelle businesses at FCB Chicago, while also writing for a variety of brands across the FCB portfolio. When she’s not writing about planes, rockets and TP, she’s running Oxford Comma Co., a writing studio that helps entrepreneurs of color find and establish their brand voice.
As a proud Latina, Yessy is also a champion for DE&I initiatives and mentorship. She has served as a mentor for the One Club of Creativity, Miami Ad School, and various internship programs. She also serves as a lead on FCB’s C&I committee. Yessy’s conviction and passions have helped her break barriers, both personal and professional, and find success in a career she loves. And through her mission to tell untold stories, highlight underrepresented voices, and create more representation in the media, Yessy has built a diverse and inclusive body of work that is rooted in purpose. And she’s just getting started.
