Empress S. Varnado produces media and experiences that highlight the beauty, power, and diversity of women, Black, and Queer folk across the globe. Empress’ insatiable appetite for creating content to empower, entertain, and educate the world has been cultivated at BET Networks, Refinery 29, the American Black Film Festival, Madame Noire, and a host of other media platforms. In 2017, Empress joined Refinery 29’s @R29unbothered team creating educational, entertaining, and empowering trending videos for women. In 2019, Empress co-created the #BETQueerAF social media franchise at BET to create radical inclusivity at the network.
