    Mya Dodson

    Hailing from Fayetteville, North Carolina, Mya Dodson is a filmmaker whose work aims to explore the nuanced emotional, spiritual intersections of the Black human experience.

    Mya is a graduate of Ghetto Film School (2018), where she acted as Cinematographer on director Luna Garcia’s punk coming-of-age short, Charley Horse, shot on location in Tel Aviv, Israel. Charley Horse has had international & national screenings, including Geena Davis’ Bentonville Film Festival.

    Mya finds inspiration through Kurosawa’s Rashomon, nature, and Black people as she cultivates her voice & vision. Presently, Mya works at the non-profit, Free the Bid, podcasts, & directs music videos.
