Victoria Onuzuruike
By ADCOLOR July 19, 2020 |Dorothy got it right when she said “Toto, I have a feeling we’re not in Kansas anymore.” Hailing from Kansas, Victoria Onuzuruike is now a bonified New Yorker with an original Midwestern flare. Graduating from Williams College with a joint degree in Economics and History, Victoria landed in the Big Apple beginning her professional journey at Ogilvy. There, Victoria quickly accelerated in her role as a Junior Producer.
Since assuming this position, Victoria has actively engaged in shaping, diversifying, and contributing her perspective on productions. In 2019, her proactive thinking and strategy led Victoria to secure the epitomes of Black Girl Magic — the “Me Too” movement’s founder Tarana Burke and LGBTQ+ advocate and singer Janelle Monae — for IBM’s 91st Academy Awards commercial premiere, “Dear Tech.” As a Black queer woman in this industry, her contributions to this campaign emphasized why representation matters at all costs.
Moreover, producing projects does not stop at the end of Victoria’s work day. When she is not producing commercials for Fortune 500 companies, she is pouring her passion into her production associations VYTLZ and 32MVP. Led by women of color, Victoria uses these platforms to mentor and collaborate with other creatives, while experimenting with video techniques and production efficiencies. With success approaching, Victoria plans to skip all the way down the yellow brick road into an optimistic, long-impacting career in advertising and production!
