A proud native Nuyorican with roots in East Harlem, Barbara is a storyteller by nature and trade. By day, she strategizes and crafts the front facing language for notable Ad Council campaigns on topics such as teen suicide, LGBT acceptance, and more. In her free time, she’s a freelance writer at Bustle where she explores the complexities of identity as it pertains to race, gender, sexuality, ability and more. Her passion lies in uplifting those from underrepresented identities and bringing their narratives to the forefront of media in order to create measurable and effective change.
