    Valeisha Butterfield JONES

    Valeisha Butterfield Jones is a global business leader and diversity and inclusion expert with over 20 years of experience. Butterfield Jones currently serves as the first Chief Diversity & Inclusion Officer at the Recording Academy where she focuses her efforts on building and implementing world-class programs and industry standards focused on inclusion, belonging and representation for underrepresented communities and creators. She enforces inclusion practices in all areas of the Recording Academy such as internal and external programs, organizational and staff culture, membership, GRAMMY Awards and related initiatives.

    Butterfield Jones formerly served as the Global Head of Inclusion for Google, Inc., National Youth Vote Director for the Obama for America campaign, Deputy Director of Public Affairs for International Trade at the U.S. Department of Commerce in the Obama Administration, Executive Director at Rush Communications and as the National Director of Diversity and Inclusion for the Alzheimer’s Association.

    Valeisha is the CEO and co-founder of the Women in Entertainment Empowerment Network (WEEN) which was established in 2007 and aims to maintain and promote a positive image of women in the entertainment industry. She also serves on the National Board of Directors of ColorComm, Hip Hop Sisters Network and iVote for America.
    Butterfield Jones is a passionate mentor to young women who work in many different fields and takes pride in giving inspiring counsel that’s opening doors for young women all over the county.
